Terms of Service

Welcome to Glyfa. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Glyfa PDF generation API, dashboard, documentation, and related services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The Service

Glyfa is a developer-facing API that generates PDF documents from HTML templates and JSON data. We provide the API, a dashboard for managing your account and keys, and documentation. Features may change over time.

3. Accounts and API keys

  • You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret. Anyone who has your key can use the Service as you and may incur charges on your account.
  • We store only a cryptographic hash of each key — we cannot recover or display the original. If you lose a key, generate a new one and revoke the old one.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide an accurate email address and keep it current.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Glyfa to:

  • generate content that is unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, or that you don't have the right to produce;
  • create documents intended to deceive or impersonate — for example, forged invoices, fake receipts, or counterfeit identity or financial documents;
  • attempt to breach, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service or its security;
  • exceed or circumvent rate limits, quotas, or the free-tier allowance;
  • resell or redistribute the Service as a substantially similar product without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. Plans, billing, and usage

  • Free tier: up to 1,000 documents per calendar month at no cost.
  • Pro: a recurring monthly fee plus metered usage above the included allowance, billed through our payment processor, Stripe.
  • Usage is metered per generated document. By subscribing, you authorize recurring and usage-based charges to your payment method.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time through the customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice.

6. Your content

  • You retain all rights to the templates, data, and documents you submit to and generate with the Service ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
  • We do not sell Your Content and do not use it to train machine-learning models.

7. Service availability

We aim for high availability but provide the Service on an "as available" basis without an uptime guarantee, particularly on the free tier. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for verifying that any document you generate meets your legal, tax, accounting, and accuracy requirements before relying on it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Glyfa and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or for unlawful or abusive use. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located there will have jurisdiction over any disputes, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
